Hey, folks! Great new forum! This will all be old news to the moderators, but I've written two novels featuring the Despenser family, The Traitor's Wife: A Novel of the Reign of Edward II, and Hugh and Bess: A Love Story. I'm working on a third novel set during the Wars of the Roses featuring Harry Stafford, the second Duke of Buckingham, and his wife, Katherine Woodville. These days my head mainly resides in the fifteenth century.

I love historical fiction from many different time periods and locations. I just like learning. Of course, I'm finding that nowadays I may have to read the same thing 5 or 6 times before it sticks. But that's true of just about anything I do now that - according to my kids - I'm over the hill.

Hi, I'm Jules, although most of you know me from my posting name of Lady D. As well as now running this forum, I also have a blog or two - the main one being Lady Despenser's Scribery. As you may have guessed from this my main area of interest is the life and 'career' of Hugh Despenser the younger - all round bad-boy and very special friend of Edward II! However, I am trying my damndest to find some good things about him!
